Rafina port NAVIGATION INFORMATION Latitude: 38°01’N Longitude: 024°01’E Time Zone: GMT +2 PORT DESCRIPTION Location: Rafina is approx 25nm due E of Piraeus. General overview: Rafina is a ferry port situated at the NW corner of Ormos Rafinas, a small sandy bay open to the NE. The port comprises an artificial harbour which affords good shelter from N’ly winds. The inner harbour is quayed on all sides. A pier projects 20m from the W side of the inner harbour (0.75 cables SW of the head of the inner mole). NAVIGATION Sea buoy, fairways and channels: Rafina is protected to the N by an outer mole projecting 50m E from reclaimed land fronting the village of Rafina. A light is exhibited at the head of the outer mole. A stone breakwater projects 40m NE from the coast approx 1.25 cables SW of the head of the outer mole. The harbour is divided into outer and inner parts by a triangular shaped inner mole which extends 60m S from the root of the outer mole. A light is exhibited at the head of the inner mole. Depths in the outer harbour are from 4.5-6.5m, except within 25m E of the head of the inner mole where there are depths from 1.2-3.9m. The inner harbour has depths of 4.0-6.0m within 50m of the SW side of the inner mole, but the S and W parts of the harbour are shallow. A dog legged mole with a total length of 240m extends E from the shore approx 1 cable N of the outer mole. The root section of the mole is 80m in length and 20m wide with depths alongside of approx 6.0m. The remainder of the mole is approx 8m wide with depths alongside of between 5.0-5.5m. Depth at the head of the mole is less than 1.0m. VHF: The port monitors VHF ch 7 and 12 throughout 24 hours. Charts: BA 1038. Admiralty Pilot NP48. BERTHING INFORMATION BERTHS AND CARGO Names/Nos: A quay with a depth alongside of approx 6.0m extends 70m S from the root of the dog legged mole. Outer harbour: Outer mole: S side; length 83m, depths alongside 4.5-4.8m. Inner mole: E side; length 40m, depth alongside 5.0m. Inner harbour: Inner mole: SW side; length 80m, depth alongside 3.7m. N quay: Ramp, 45m in length with depths alongside from 4.1-4.5m. W pier: Ramp, 20m in length with depths alongside from 3.0-3.6m.
