PORT DESCRIPTION
Latitute 37' 58.0' N Longitute 023' 23.0' E
Location: Pachi is situated in Megara Bay.
General overview: Pachi Oil Terminal is one of Hellenic
Aspropyrgos SA's facilities. Vessels from 20,000-600,000dwt
can be accommodated usually starboard side alongside.
Traffic figures: Approx 80 vessels per annum visit the port
importing approx 6,500,000t of crude oil.
Load Line zone: Summer.
Max size: Max draft, 29m.
Largest vessel handled: "Hellas Fos", 500,000dwt tanker,
draft 27m.
Communications: Athens callsign "SVA".
VHF: Through Athina Radio callsign "SVA". VHF is operative
24 hours on Ch 6, 12, 14 and 16 for Piraeus Pilots and
Eleusis Coastguard. Hellenic Refinery on Ch 8 and 14.
Health regulations: Free pratique according to International
Regulations. Pratique is not required if arriving from
another Greek port.
Customs and immigration: Customs and Immigration should be
advised by vessel's agent.
Notices of readiness: Can be tendered anytime but will only
be accepted between 0800-1700hrs.
NAVICATION
Port limits: The limits of the port extend 2.5nm SW from N
Pachi Island.
Sea buoys, fairways and channels: A "BYB Q(3) 10s" buoy is
located S of the jetty.
Pilot: Compulsory. Pilot boards SW of North Pachi Island.
Cable agent 72, 48 and 24 hours in advance advising ETA.
Agent informs pilot office of vessel's arrival time. Piraeus
Pilots can be contacted on VHF Ch 7 and 12.
Anchorages: Anchorage is SW of North Pachi Island in depths
of approx 55m.
Tidal range and flow: Nil.
Dock density: 1025.
Weather: Prevailing winds: N'ly in winter, sometimes force
7-8 Beaufort; W'ly in spring and autumn; variable summer.
Principal navigation aids: A light is exhibited at each end
of the head of the pier.
Charts: BA 2836A. Admiralty Pilot NP48.
Traffic schemes: None.
Restrictions: Berthing and unberthing during daylight hours
only.
Tugs: Available. Tugs usually join vessel near anchorage
area. Ship's lines always used.
Coast guard: Eleusis Coastguard, Tel: +30 1 5547711.
Mooring information: Pilot will advise Master of berthing
place according to Port Authority instructions. Vessels
should be berthed with starboard side alongside, with 3 head
lines, 4 breasts, 2 spring lines forward and 3 stern lines,
4 breasts and 2 spring lines depending on the size of the
vessel, aft.
During berthing/unberthing, the tugs must be in accordance
with refinery port regulations.
BERTHS AND CARGO
Names/Nos: Tanker berths: One berth with 4 unloading arms,
each 16in diameter. Max manifold height 35.5m, min 2.0m
above sea level. The max acceptable pressure is 11 bars
(150psi), max flow rate 4,000m3/hr per loading arm.
The depth at the head of the pier is 31m.
Barges: Not allowed alongside.
Ballast/slop reception: Not available.
Security: Not required.
Safety: Safety wires rigged fore and aft on outboard side of
the vessel. Deck scuppers should be plugged. Spark arresters
must be fitted on tank openings and earth connections made.
Safety tug boat stands by during discharging according to
Port Authority's instructions in case of storms. The Dock
Master can stop vessel's discharging operation.
A shore gangway is available.
GENERAL
Repairs: Available at Piraeus and Eleusis.
Bunkers/water/stores: Fresh water: Not available.
Bunkering: Bunkers available by barge only at anchorage
(bunkering barges not allowed when the vessel is alongside).
Medical facilities: Medical facilities available in Megara;
there is a clinic in Eleusis, 20km.
Transport: Nearest airport: Athens, 60km.
Nearest railway: Megara, 1km.
Crew change: Available.
Consuls: None locally, consuls in Athens and Piraeus.
Banks: All banks are available in Athens and Piraeus.
Public holidays: Cargo operations are continuous during the
usual Greek holidays ie, Mar 25, Easter Monday, May 1, Oct
28 and Christmas Day.
Working hours: Throughout 24 hours.
Garbage: Garbage disposal not available.
Officials and visitors: Allowed but permission required from
Hellenic Aspropyrgos Refinery.
Fumigation: Not available.
Pollution: Vessel will be fully responsible to the
authorities, third parties and the terminal for all claims,
costs and expenses arising therefrom. |
